At the beginning of each episode, they were given a "homework assignment" that entails learning and practicing segments of a chosen song then the contestant that completes the homework best is given a one-on-one session with the guest star and a principal part in the music video.

But here’s the sad part, not everyone are safe because there is a callback. During callbacks, the bottom three are revealed. They are then assigned a song that they will perform in hopes of being "saved". Once they failed to satisfy the judges, then it is time for them to go while the remaining two will continue to mingle with the others and will have their change to be a part of Glee show.
